Washington DC, December 2-4, 2013

Here are some pictures from our trip to Washington DC.  We went to the Natural History Museum and had a great time.  The kids loved seeing all the dinosaur bones and exploring all the animal species they had on display.

Xavier makes a cute cave man.

This was just funny.  It does look a little like Thierry though.

This is a real time counter showing the population of the world.  At the time I took this picture it was 7,113,692,806.  It was changing constantly though.  I have to wonder how accurate it is though.  It seems strange they can know the population of the entire world real time.  Oh well, it was still pretty cool.

We went to an amazing restaurant called the District Chophouse and Brewery.  So yummy.  There are a lot of great restaurants in the DC area.

World War II memorial.  Very beautiful.

The Lincoln Memorial.  My favorite.  The kids had a great time playing on the stairs and did not want to leave.

View of the Washington Monument from the Lincoln Memorial.

It is not possible to get close to the White House now due to all the security but we were able to see it from the area around the Washington Monument.  We walked from the Natural History Museum to the Lincoln Memorial so we were able to see a lot of sights along the way.   The kids were not happy to walk that far but they really enjoyed the Lincoln Memorial once we got there.  I think one of the reasons they did not want to leave the Lincoln Memorial was because they did not want to walk all the way back to where we parked our car near the Natural History Museum.  Oh well, a bit of exercise is good for them.

The United States Capitol.  We were lucky to go to Washington DC after the Government Shut-Down so everything was open.  I feel sorry for all the people that came to visit Washington DC when everything was shut down.
