Julien playing

Here are a few pictures of Julien playing on his bear play mobile. He loves it. He loves it even more when I smile at him and he smiles back. He is such a sweet boy.

Xavier was taking a nap at this time so I got to spend quality time with my second born.

He is talking a lot more now and loves to squeal and sing. He also managed to keep blue eyes, I don't know how we managed to have two blue eyed boys but we did.

He is teething a lot at the moment so he wants to suck on everything.

We leave for France this weekend for 2 weeks. We are very excited.

I will post lots of pictures when we return.

Housewarming Party

We finally had our housewarming party yesterday and it was a great success. Even the weather cooperated. It rained a little in the beginning but then it stopped and was a nice cool day and didn't continue raining until about 30 minutes after everyone left for home. There were a lot of kids there for Xavier to play with as well as several babies to cuddle. Even Elodie came with her 3 week old daughter Charlotte, what a beautiful girl.

Many people brought some wonderful food for us to share, thanks for that, and we all had a great time. It was so nice to see so many of our close friends at the same time. Thanks to everyone for making the drive all the way out to Dorfen. We hope you had as wonderful a time as we did. Also many thanks to Alex for manning the barbecue which allowed Thierry to socialize and relax a little. He did a great job and didn't burn a thing. He also entertained Xavier a bit and helped to keep him out of trouble.

Thanks also to everyone for the wonderful gifts. We were just happy that so many people were able to come out that we weren't even expecting gifts, so it was a wonderful surprise.

We will have to have another barbecue again soon.

Xavier's first black eye

Xavier was climbing on our dining chairs and decided to climb from one to another and slipped and fell and hit his eye on the corner of the other chair. I grabbed him right away and looked at the damage and saw a mark immediately which was getting bigger before my eyes. So I grabbed an ice pack and tried to prevent it from getting too bad but as you can see he finally managed to give himself a black eye. At least he missed actually hitting himself in the eye though. He only cried a little and then when I mentioned he could have an ice pack on his eye to make it feel better he stopped crying immediately. I think he thought I meant ice cream pack though. But once I put the ice pack on his eye he really liked it. We have a wonderful bag of cherry seeds that you can freeze or heat in the microwave for a hot or cold compress. He loves it and wants to use it every day now. I just hope he doesn't injure himself on purpose in the future in order to use the ice pack.

Legoland 2

We went to Legoland again on Monday the day after Mother's Day. I couldn't do much on Mother's Day because I was having a lot of back problems so on Monday we decided to get out of the house and go somewhere that Xavier would really love and give me a chance to relax. Legoland was the perfect place. Xavier was so busy having fun that he didn't have time to be difficult. I got plenty of time to relax and even got to go on a couple of the more mellow rides. All I had to do was walk around in the beautiful weather we are having and sit down occasionally or stand and wait while Thierry and Xavier went on the rides. Can't beat that.

Julien & Xavier playing

Julien just loves his "Hop & Pop". He is getting really good at it. Xavier is also doing really well with his potty training. He even wiped his bum all by himself for the first time today. He is also learning to go to the toilet without me having to ask him if he needs to go. He still wears a diaper at night and during his nap and also when we go out of the house but soon he will wear underware all day long even if we leave the house. Very exciting times.
Xavier loves reading his books. He has them in German, French and English. Poor boy has to learn 3 languages. But at least he will be able to communicate with everyone in the family and it can only help him with finding a career later in life.

Legoland

We went to Legoland last weekend and had a blast. Xavier got to go on a boat ride, a plane ride, a car ride and several others. They also had a few great playgrounds that he could just play in. We bought season tickets so we can go back again soon. We were only there for the last 3 hours and didn't get to see much of the park, but that just means we have more to explore next time. Hopefully we can go there again soon.

Julien's first meal, yummy carrots!!!

Julien just started with baby food. His first meal was pureed baby carrots, yummy. He is not really a fan of baby food yet but I am sure that will soon change.

Xavier is doing really well with potty training so we put together his toy house. He loves it and plays in it every day.

Julien also loves that he is now big enough to play in his Hop & Pop seat. It makes a lot of cool sounds, plays music and has a lot of flashing lights. It also allows him to bounce up and down. His legs are getting stronger every day.

Xavier is a little jealous that Julien can play in the Hop & Pop because it used to be his. We let him play in it a little bit before but then he broke Julien's baby swing because he was too heavy so he is now banned from all of Julien's toys that you sit in. Luckily he has enough other toys to play with that he is not too jealous.
