6 Flags Discovery Kingdom

Our final destination on our trip was at 6 flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo California. It used to be Marine World Africa USA and I went here when I was younger but 6 flags bought it so it now has a lot more rides then it used to. Xavier even got to go on his first big boy roller coaster, the Boomerang. He was happy at first but then once the ride got going he got a bit scared and did not want to go on it again. We went on a great ride called SkyScreamer that goes up 15 stories and swings 43 miles per hour. That was fun. Even Julien got to go on that one. He loved it.
There was a Killer Whale show, dolphin show, bird show, and seal and sea lion show we saw as well. They also had a lot of other animals including lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, and lots more. The kids had a great time. Their favorite ride was a boat that swung around all different ways. They went on that 3 times in a row. We had a great time at 6 Flags even though we did not even have time to go on half of the rides. We stayed until closing at 8:00 PM then drove through the night home and arrived the next morning at around 9:30 AM. We were so tired. It has took us a few days to recover but our trip was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed it.
We already have our next mini vacation planned for the end of September. We are going to Las Vegas to visit my sister and her family and see the sights. So be sure to check the blog again soon for pictures from that trip.

San Francisco: Lombard Street, Exploratorium, Pier 39, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Restaurant

We went to Pier 39 and my favorite restaurant "Bubba Gump Shrimp" at the end of Pier 39 in San Francisco. It was really good. The kids got their strawberry and cherry lemonade in glasses that lit up and we got to take home with us, I had some really yummy fish and shrimp, Thierry had mussels and clams, Julien had pizza(he did not feel like fish), Xavier had coconut shrimp, and Aurelie had fish and chips. The food was really good and the service was great. Hopefully they open a restaurant in Utah one day. If they do I will frequent it often.

We also went to the Exploratorium, which is a great children's museum with lots of things for the kids to experiment with. They even dissected a cows eye so we could see what in inside our eyes. The kids had a lot of fun experimenting with everything and the building was really beautiful outside. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the outside of the building. It was great fun but really tiring chasing after the kids.

We also went on the crookedest street in the world "Lombard Street". The kids loved going down all those turns. We had a great time in San Francisco but after such a long trip of driving over 2,000 miles we were ready to start heading home. We stopped in one more place on the way home... 6 flags Marine World. That will be in my next post.
