Julien's Birthday Dinner

We went to the Hofbrau Keller in Munich for Julien's birthday dinner. It has a wonderful play area for kids. Our table was right next to the play area so the kids could go back and forth really easily. I made a chocolate cake to share with everyone. It turned out pretty good.
Emma and Gavin were able to come with little Leighton, Keeley came, Eshter and Blake came with their beautiful daughter Lily, Priscilla and Christian came with adorable Michelle, and Peggy and Phil came as well. It was wonderful to catch up with everyone and to let the kids play. Thanks to all those who could come. We had a great time.

Julien's 2nd Birthday

My little Julien turned 2 years old on 13 November. It is hard to believe that only 2 years ago he was born. It seems like he has been part of our lives forever. We love you Julien and are so happy to have you. You are such a sweet and charming boy and a joy to have around.
I made him a bear shaped cake and we gave him the Bosch Work-Station for his birthday. He loves it. It even included an electric drill. Very cool.

Saint Martin's Day 11.11.2009

Here are some pictures from this years Saint Martin's Day. Xavier made his lantern blue this year because that is his favorite color. He got to walk around outside with a candle in his lantern and then attend a meeting where all the kids learned who Saint Martin was and why we celebrate him. Julien had a great time running around outside but didn't like the meeting very much. So Thierry took him outside while I sat in the meeting with Xavier. Then we all got hot punch and cookies shaped like geese. I am not sure of the significance of that though.

Peppino Indoor play area 8 November

We took the boys to Peppino on 8 November and met up with Alex and Sophie and their two beautiful daughters. This was the first big outing for Maya since she finished her aggressive treatment for Leukemia. It was great to see all of them again and to see Maya doing so well. We all had a lot of fun.
Xavier especially loved driving the cars. He did very well and only crashed a few times. Julien loved going along for the ride and riding around on the Bobby Cars. I guess they both already love to drive.

Xavier and Julien in their Halloween costumes

Here are Xavier and Julien in their Halloween costumes. Xavier was Superman and Julien was a skeleton. Xavier loves his costume so much that he likes to wear it around the house and even sleep in it if we let him. He really tried to fly in it as well and managed to fall on his chin the other day and now has a big bruise there.
I guess he now knows that wearing the costume does not make him the real Superman.
